| a good goal for every year |
This is the last Hodgepodge for 2025. If you want to join in by answering these questions on your blog, click here.
1. Did you make resolutions or set goals for the year we're waving goodbye? How did that work out for you? Will you set any goals for this new year, new season, or new month? Share one or two if you'd like to share.
I don't remember making any specific New Year's resolutions for 2025. But I do try to not repeat past mistakes, striving to "get it right!!!" -- whatever the issue is at hand.

2. When did you have the most fun this year?
We have visited a lot of historical places this year (which I wrote about in our Christmas newsletter). I have discovered how much I enjoy museums and learning life lessons from the experiences of others. (with the hope maybe I can avoid some of their pitfalls??)
3. What's a song or song lyric you'll associate with 2025? Tell us why.
One of my sons and I were talking about music from years ago that we have recently enjoyed again. "Praise the Lord" by The Imperials has blessed me any/every time I hear it and it's been revived for me in 2025. This is the link on youtube: Praise the Lord
4. Best (or a favorite) bite of something delicious you tasted this year?
The day after Christmas we met family at Da Vinci Pizza and Pasta in Gainesville. I ordered an entire pizza for myself so I could take home the leftovers for supper. At the first bite I knew I'd made the right decision. It tasted so good that I had to remind myself to save some for the take-home box!

More laughter, more bike rides, more walks, more time to read, more pizza, more laughter, more quiet meals with loved ones beside water (ocean, Gulf, rivers, streams, lakes), more blogging, and a better understanding of the issues that trouble me.
Less concern about those things I cannot change (although prayer about them will continue).
6. Insert your own random thought here.
This, from Marcus Stanley on Facebook, really says it for me:

Grace and peace are wished for you, as well, Barb! I enjoyed your post and am so blessed by your friendship - through our blogs AND in person! We need to find a day for a girls' lunch in this coming new year!! Love & hugs!! xo
I wish you all the best, dear Barbara, always ❤️
You post and photos are such a joy to read and I really appreciate you.
Thank you so much for your visits and kind comments on my blog, and most of all, thank you for your friendship...and for being you.
Happy New Year to you.
Sending you warm hugs 🫂 🤗 and much love.
Happy New Year and thanks for the ticket! I think I will take full advantage of it!
Grace & Peace,
Pam
I love the ticket for New Year's Eve! Thank you, I think I'll take you up on that offer! And your favorites listed in 2025 were all good...that pizza sure looks good. Our sweet DIL ROSE made pizza for us tonight...it was really good too. And I always look forward to reading your blog and having you visit me on mine as well. And the in person visits are pretty special too! Maybe in 2026 we can find a time to get together again, once we get over these horrid colds and things that keep plagueing us! LOL. I wish you and Gary a most wonderful and blessed 2026. (((HUGS)))
That's the right ticket for me and Greg! :) Your favorite bite sounded delicious! I'll have to go back now and listen to the song you shared. What you would enjoy more of in 2026 all sounds good to me! Wishing you and Gary a very happy New Year!
Oh I love the New Years Eve tickets! How clever. That's what we'll be doing, too.
What a nice end of the year Hodgepodge. I really like that framed "sermon" print. So true. Thank you for always providing a memorable reading experience on your blog. I always look forward to it, when it pops up. I hope you and Gary have a fantastic 2026.
That pizza looks delicious! I enjoy museums too and we try to visit some when we travel new places especially. That new year's eve party is my kind of party lol. We're walking over to the next door neighbor's for dinner and cards which will be fun too. No driving and we can come home when we're tired. Happy new year to you and Gary! It's so nice to know you through our blogs : )
Now, I / we have to try DaVinci's, thank you. Wishing you a beautiful day. Waving to Gary.
That pizza looks divine! I'm starting to enjoy museums; when I travel, I love hearing about the history of where I am, especially the little known facts. Happy New Year!
Not repeating mistakes is a good thing, I try to do the same. It sounds like you have had some interesting travels and good on you for ordering a whole pizza! It looks delicious!
Happy New Year! Wishing you all the best for 2026!
I love that song too. They were one of my favorite groups in the 70’s and 80’s. Truth in that song too. I will be staying tonight and snug in bed before the bell tolls, but always hopeful with a new year. See ya next year!
So nice to meet you at the Hodgepodge today! That pizza looks delicious! I even like cheap and frozen pizza so its always a treat to have pizza, but ohhh when you find good pizza its a blessing! And its something that reheats well lol! I like your friends tickets! We are traveling today but I would prefer staying home and doing nothing!
I hope you have a great New Years holiday and hope to visit your blog again in 2026!
Happy New Year to you and Gary, Barbara! The pizza looks incredible.
Let me see....where can I purchase one of those tickets? The stay home and do nothing tickets. Barbara, the food looks amazing..the pizza as well as that big tall burger. YUM!! So happy to visit here today, although I'm a day late. I LOVE meeting new blogging friends...makes my life sweet. Hope you all have a wonderful and safe New Years Day...
Oh the Imperials is a great 'blast from the past' - used to love their music! Enjoyed reading all your answers, and especially your more of/less of lists. I can get behind those, although meals beside the water isn't really an option for us except on vacations!
Hope you enjoyed and made use of those NYE tickets! Happy New Year!
Happy and Blessed New Year to you and Gary. I'm grateful to have discovered your inspirational words this year!
I so like your random thought at the end. Yes, we made it for another year thanks be to God. And we should laugh more in 2026.
God bless always.
Happy new year! I enjoyed your answers to the final 2025 Hodge Podge - but especially your answer to number 5! Praying God richly blesses this new year ahead for you! I look forward to visiting you here often.
