| our cards to each other |
Christmas 2025 is now behind us. Gradually the decorations will come down, we'll pack away the cards received (although more came in just today), finish up the egg nog, and try to pace our consumption of all the wonderful foodie gifts sent by both family and friends.

For Christmas breakfast we had our usual Cheerios but served in my Christmas dishes instead of the Corelle bowls.

| Christmas dinner (lunch) |
These same festive dishes were used throughout the day (although my portion of salmon is obscuring the poinsettia on my plate!). In addition to the salmon, we had green beans and Stovetop Stuffing (my favorite when it comes to dressing/stuffing). It was a simple menu but very tasty and just right.
I have a package of the most cute Christmas paper napkins that Denise gave to me years ago. They are so fun that I only use a very few of them each year. When I went to find the package on Christmas Eve, I couldn't find them! I know they're here SOMEWHERE because I happened to come across them just before Thanksgiving..... oh wait! I just now found them on the Internet. Here's what they look like:

Gary got us tickets for several upcoming concerts in the New Year. We gave each other gift cards for necessary services, a cross word puzzle book, and red and white blinking safety lights for our bicycles.

I absolutely love it when Gary gets tickled. He tends to chuckle for a long time. This shirt made that happen.
~ There are a few pages in Susie Larson's [excellent] advent devotional book that I did not have time to finish before Christmas, so I want to complete that.
~ and just wind down from 2025 to move into 2026.

It sounds like you had a very merry Christmas, Barb! I loved seeing your photos and I giggled at that t-shirt, too!! I will post about my Christmas-time on Monday's blog. I am leaving the decorations up this week because I have company coming two different days. I tend to make a huge mess gathering it all together before packing it away. This coming weekend is soon enough for that!! Sending a hug and wishing you and Gary a very blessed new year!
Best wishes to you and your family for the New Year and onwards. Thank you for the Bible quote at the end. I did not know Santa changed his reindeer for storks.
God bless.
I love the t-shirt. It sounded like you had a delightful Christmas season with time spent with family and friends. Enjoy these remaining few days left in 2025.
Nice to see you post. Wishing you a belated Merry Christmas a soon to be Happy New Year.
It sounds like you are having a lovely time after Christmas. The foodie gifts sounds delicious and yum to the egg nog. The safety lights sound like great idea and that shirt did make me chuckle.
A very sweet and special Christmas you enjoyed! I love the Stovetop dressing too. Twinkle lights and nativities are my favorite Christmas decor too. We had lots of sweets given to us as well and enjoyed a bite or two and then passed along to our kids. Wishing you a blessed Christmas and New Year season!
Wishing you a sweet end to 2025 and a happy new year. Love the Santa at the end.
Sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy wind down to 2026. I am still way behind in reading posts but trying to get caught up little by little. Now John has the bug I had...I think it was the flu, but I didn't go to the Dr. I'm still a little bit not fully recovered. But life goes on and so I have to keep on moving along. Yes, we need to cover a few plants here too...old man winter is coming back to get us! Take care my friends and stay warm! Happy New Year!
Looks as if it were a lovely Christmas Day! Enjoy this cozy week, my friend!
Well it sounds like a very nice Christmas for you both. Adorable napkin! I had the Christmas sweater napkins, cut out in the shape of a sweater but no one wanted to use it. Not practical so I brought out the old paper towels and they took their sweater napkins home!
Sounds like a bit of a cold snap for you down there - keep warm and enjoy it. Happy New Year!
I love the low key feel to the week between Christmas and New Year's Day. We were in the northeast for Christmas and say our blood has thinned. We were happy to get back to more reasonable temps. Happy new year!
Lovely photos and illustrations! Your Christmas lunch looks delicious! Happy New Year to you, Barbara. Wishing you good health, peace, love and joy!
Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year to you and Gary!
Sounds like a good Christmas season for the two of you. This is our first down day and I'm trying to catch up while I can. A very happy New year to the two of you.
